The Assistant General Counsel (Research, Development and Acquisition) advises the General Counsel and the Navy Secretariat on all acquisition matters dealt with at the Secretariat level. In particular, the Assistant General Counsel is the principal legal advisor to the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Research, Development and Acquisition), the senior Navy official in charge of setting policy for and managing all aspects of the Navy's research, development, and acquisition programs.
